Hello, MNL readers. Coretax, the latest tax application launched by the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP), is officially available for filing Tax Returns (SPT) for the 2025 tax year.
Coretax is a new tax administration system that offers various benefits, such as automatic tax calculations and more accurate data integration. This system is designed to enhance efficiency and reduce the risk of errors in tax administration processes. Although Coretax was introduced in late 2024, its full implementation will begin on January 1, 2025. Therefore, for filing annual Tax Returns for the 2024 tax year, taxpayers will still use pajak.go.id, the system that has been in use for years. This means that filing Tax Returns through Coretax will officially commence in 2026.
A significant change in the taxation system lies in the replacement of the Electronic Filing Identification Number (e-FIN). On pajak.go.id, e-FIN is still required for registering a new account or resetting a password. However, in the DJP Coretax system, e-FIN is no longer used. Instead, verification is conducted via a registered email address or phone number.
Filing annual income Tax Returns (SPT Tahunan PPh) for the 2024 tax year and prior years, as well as periodic Tax Returns (SPT Masa) for the tax periods of December 2024 and earlier, will still be carried out through the pajak.go.id system. In this system, e-FIN is still needed for account registration or password recovery. However, in the DJP Coretax system, e-FIN will no longer be utilized. Verification will rely on registered email addresses or phone numbers instead.
The DJP Coretax system will be fully implemented starting from the 2025 tax year. Meanwhile, for the 2024 tax year, filing Tax Returns will continue through pajak.go.id.
Taxpayers are encouraged to adhere to the applicable procedures to ensure timely and compliant filing. Don’t forget to stay updated on the latest developments in the taxation system. Hopefully, this innovation will serve as a step toward a better tax system in the future.
